Meet the Crew

Harvey Raven

Born in Holland, raised in Australia, he speaks Dutch and has a seafaring ancestry dating back to 1592. A former Queenslander, he is our senior skipper and the Boss. An offshore Yachtmaster Instructor with over 50 years sailing experience, 20 years of ocean racing (usually aboard the winner) and many international voyages, he’s one of Australia’s most experienced catamaran skippers. A Nature nut and the originator of all our activities, you could find him leading any of them. Customer service is his obsession, hence the “Love it or it’s free” guarantee.

Geoff Brooks

Was born in England and raised in Australia. In 1998 we brought him over from Queensland just to do our Shotover upgrades. He grew to love Shark Bay so much that he joined our team as our maintenance guru.  Keeping on top of the maintenance of a boat that works every day can be challenging.  Especially when ‘the show must go on’ requires working through the night or a custom built item that can’t be bought off the shelf has to be replaced by fabrication.  Geoff’s talent is amazing. We’ve yet to find a problem he can’t solve. If we can break it, he can fix it. So you can rest assured, Shotover is one of the best maintained and safest boats you’ll ever sail on.

Siena Raven

A multi-skilled, talented asset to our gang.  Born and bred in Shark Bay, she's a local.  She's likely to pop up anywhere in our business.  She's done a half-circumnavigation of Australia and can steer,  navigate, handle sails and lines as well look after paperwork and guests.  You may also find her in the office driving the booking systems and accounts.  Her main focus though is managing our holiday accommodation properties.

Quinn Raven

He is the second of the 2nd Generation of the Raven family to step into the family business. Quinn has grown up in Shark Bay around sailing, boats and the sea. He loves the ocean, animals and people and feels privileged to work in paradise on 'Shotover' and to share with guests so many special happenings on the water. He's been on 'Shotover' since he was 4 days old and has been her skipper for the last 7 years. In addition to sailing halfway around Australia, Quinn has travelled in Asia and lived in Europe for 6 months. He still has found nothing that outshines Shark Bay.

Bodhi Reynolds

From a family that owns one of our Denham's caravan parks, he's no stranger to hospitality. He's our latest crew but you'd never guess it by the way he's so comfortable with the boat. He's an animal lover with a pet python and the full collection of David Attenborough's work. We love to employ locals even more so those who are wildlife fans, so when he asked us to keep him in mind should a position come up, we did and he's not looked back.

Tiani Guelpa

An ocean child. Her father skippered dive charters and Tiani was with him at every opportunity. Forever on the boat be it as deckhand or blowing bubbles underwater to working in the dive shop. She got her recreational skippers ticket soon after they were invented and as a dab dinghy handler became involved in the Bunbury dolphin tourism experience. As an ocean child she also became a lifesaver. Then she visited Shark Bay.... and had to come back. Now she's with us, on the boat and in the office.

Johnny Bonboni

Born in Bulgaria but raised and educated in Turkey. Johnny arrived in Australia in 2013 with a degree in Computer Science and experience in the hospitality industry. He made Shark Bay his new home and became our IT brain. He’s the creator of our online custom booking system and website that you are using right now. He’s also the go to guy for many others in our community with IT issues. You can find Johnny’s smiling face appearing from behind a computer screen in one of our offices.
